Bienenstein, Solitary Bee and Insect Hotel "Teardrop"

I have been making these large Bienenstein (bee stones) for 7 years now. The nesting aids are excellently accepted!

This proven, practical nesting aid for solitary bees and insects, made from fired natural clay, is particularly durable and long-lasting, especially compared to nesting aids made of wood and similar materials. The clay is fired at 950°C, ensuring that the ceramic remains porous enough for an insect nesting aid.

The unique design in a natural-abstract style blends perfectly into any environment and is a real highlight for your garden, terrace, house wall, or dry-stone wall.

A special feature of my Bienenstein is that the depth of the nesting tunnels is up to 10 cm. Unfortunately, most Bienenstein are significantly shallower. Many solitary bee species prefer deeper nesting tunnels between 8-10 cm!

Ideal for over 20 different solitary bee and wasp species. The associated antagonists such as fruit flies, cuckoo, club-horned, and ichneumon wasps (enemies of aphids!) also inevitably establish themselves. Created according to the specifications and recommendations of bee professionals.

Each solitary bee/insect hotel is lovingly handcrafted and is therefore an original and unique piece. No use of stencils or pre-made forms. Therefore, there may always be small deviations from the picture.

Just the right thing for anyone who wants to do something for species protection and at the same time have an attractive and extraordinary showpiece for their home, garden, or balcony.

Attachment/Installation:
Insects prefer a dry, warm nesting site.
Therefore, place it in a rain-protected spot – e.g., under a roof overhang or balcony, or protected in a dry-stone wall. Do not choose the weather side!
Moisture could harm the brood.
In addition, the clay could absorb water and be damaged by sudden severe frost.

A rich food supply for solitary bees in the immediate vicinity is of course important for good colonization!

There are 2 holes on the back for hanging.
